| This log cabin chalet has three comfortable and romantic bedrooms: a wheelchair accessible queen bedroom on the first floor with a roll-in shower and two king bedrooms on the second floor. The bedrooms on the second floor, share a shower, but have their own commodes and vanities. All linens, soap, conditioner, shampoo provided. |

These are the upstairs bedrooms made up as kings.
They can also be made into twins. Sleep in the treetops.

This first floor queen bedroom is wheelchair accessible.
There is also a roll-in shower and taller toilet.
We know that it might rain or snow during your vacation, so inside the Chalet are lots of wonderful activities: board games, card games, books, puzzles, dvds and videos, and yes, even satellite tv. But we hope you’ll be too busy having fun to watch tv.
| The Chalet log cabin was built to promote togetherness. The kitchen is open to the dining area and is large enough for two people to work together preparing meals. The kitchen is supplied with almost everything you need to show off your culinary skills: stand mixer, blender, toaster, coffee maker, 5 burner gas stove, microwave and wall oven, flour, sugar, coffee, tea, condiments, paper goods and more. There is even a washer and dryer! |

Outside there is the gated wrap around deck. A great place for your 4-footed family members to chase their tails round and round while you are preparing dinner on the gas grill or enjoying lolling in the hot tub. It’s also a great place to enjoy al fresco dining, but maybe not in winter.
Here at the Chalet vacation rental, only the deer and turkey will know you are home.

In addition to hiking the trails on the property and taking a horseback ride on trails on the property, nearby is beautiful Watauga Lake for swimming, boating, fishing and picnicking. Other things to do might be biking the Virginia Creeper Trail, visiting the Butler Museum to learn about “the town that wouldn’t drown”, attending live performances at Barter Theater, or taking a motorcycle ride on some of our favorite rides such as “the green eyed snake” aka US route 421 from Mountain City to Bristol.

The Appalachian Trail is accessible via either a trail head on Cross Mountain, at Watauga Dam or right here in Butler behind the dam. The section from one end to the other is about 16 miles long and has two shelters along the ridge. Of course, if you are very adventurous, you could crash through the rhododendrons and fallen trees and try to reach the top right from the trail which leads from the cabin into the Cherokee National Forest.
